My child and adolescent training allows me to work with people up until their 26th birthday. I am undertaking an additional training in order to offer psychotherapy to adults of all ages.
I currently have a vacancy for one adult aged 18+ to attend therapy three times a week, for a minimum of 18 months as part of my additional training. This might suit you if you have issues that have been troubling you for some time, patterns of behaviour in which you get stuck, trauma from your past or perhaps you have already discovered that once weekly therapy is not enough for you. For many people waiting a week between sessions can be difficult, and coming more often can create a safe space to allow the work to look deeper and for you to feel able to take more risks.
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a powerful and transformative form of talk therapy that can helps you explore the deeper layers of their emotional lives. Rooted in the ideas of Freud and developed over many decades, this approach goes beyond simply treating symptoms—it seeks to uncover the unconscious patterns and unresolved experiences that shape how you think, feel, and relate to others.
In therapy, you’ll have the space to speak freely and reflect deeply, with the support of a trained therapist who listens closely and helps you understand the hidden meanings behind your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Often, challenges in the present are connected to early relationships and experiences. By making sense of these connections, you can begin to loosen the grip of old patterns and gain greater freedom in how you live your life.
Rather than offering quick fixes, psychoanalytic psychotherapy invites lasting change through increased self-awareness, emotional insight, and personal growth. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or a general sense that something isn’t right, this therapy offers a compassionate and thoughtful path toward healing and self-discovery.
If you are interested, send me an email and we can arrange an initial chat. If you are still interested after this then I will put you in touch with Severnside (my training institution) and they will assess whether this is likely to be a helpful opportunity for you.
The fee would be negotiated between us, based on your circumstances.
